Our Vision

Give the innovators an empowering network.

We re-imagine collaboration by connecting people, ideas, and resources to impact our community, our surroundings, and the world.

Factory Berlin is an ecosystem of over 4,500 members from more than 70 nations located on two cities – Factory Berlin Mitte and Factory Hammerbrooklyn in Hamburg. We curate the most ambitious innovators from the tech, creative, and corporate industries. Our diverse community comes together to connect, collaborate, and thrive.

Members have access to workspace in our two locations, 400 educational and social events a year, entrepreneurship and creative mentorship programs, and online and offline networking activities. We forge partnerships with global organizations, for example, Google for Startups, and McKinsey & Company, in order to give startups access to resources that help their businesses grow.

Spaces, events, programs and partnerships to build the next generation of tech businesses.

Our community understands the purposeful transformation of creativity and tech. The constant interdisciplinary interaction within our ecosystem stimulates new ways of thinking and solutions that redefine our reality.

Known as the “Factory Effect,” it describes the synergy between tech, art, startups, corporates, and students from different fields finding solutions together.

Our Story

It all started with a vision to create Germany’s first and largest international network of tech startups, fuelled by a passion for building spaces. Udo Schloemer, founder of Factory Berlin, opened the people-centric space in 2014 to build a Community for all types of experts and innovators.

Located on the former Berlin Wall, the original location, Factory Berlin Mitte, was designed by architect Julian Breinersdorfer and interior designers Anna Sophie Rickers and Sabrina Heimig-Schloemer.

In 2018, we scaled along with the Berlin startup ecosystem and opened Factory Berlin Görlitzer Park, 14000 sqm of innovation labs, shared workspaces, and event space.

Located at the heart of Hamburg’s Digital District, 2021 welcomed our Factory Hammerbrooklyn campus, a historical convergence point for business, economy, cultural and innovation networks.

But being attuned with the times, the pandemic and the industry evolution lead us to realize: the future of work is out-of-home home office. Embracing this shift, we undertook a significant transformation, phasing out the Görlitzer Park campus to return to our original home, Factory Mitte.

So much was achieved within our former biggest campus walls. It served as a launchpad for numerous startups, fostered invaluable connections and provided inspiration for global industry leaders. Now, it is time to welcome back our community of over 4,500 innovators and creators into a newly designed clubhouse at Factory Mitte. Inspired by the warmth and comfort of a living room, the space will provide an environment where members can work, network and have fun.

With this transition, Factory Network will continue its evolution into a business club for investors, founders and innovators; with spaces, events, programs and partnerships further empowering members to build the next generation of tech businesses.
